PPG Will Extend COLORFUL COMMUNITIES Program Through 2035

Global program to protect and beautify local communities celebrates 10 years of impact.

PPG will extend its global COLORFUL COMMUNITIES program for an additional 10 years to celebrate a decade of beautifying and revitalizing communities. As part of this commitment, PPG will commit $15 million to celebrate the next decade of beautifying and revitalizing communities.

The 10-year milestone will be marked by a year of celebrations that will feature 10 flagship Colorful Communities projects around the world throughout 2025. To build on the positive impacts of the program, PPG and the PPG Foundation will also distribute $1 million in celebration grants to 100 previous and current Colorful Communities partners.

“The Colorful Communities program unites the power of our PPG paint products with our employee volunteers to brighten neighborhoods and make a difference for the people who call those neighborhoods home,” said Malesia Dunn, executive director, PPG Foundation and corporate global social responsibility. “Over the past decade, fresh color and paint have made life-changing impacts in the hands of our dedicated volunteers. We’re thrilled to continue bringing joy and positivity to our communities for the next 10 years.”

Since the program’s inception in 2015, it has:

  • Impacted more than10.2 million peoplethrough nearly600 projectsin more than50 countries with over $15 million invested inColorful Communitiesprojects to date;
  • Used nearly 65,000 gallons of paint (246,000+ liters) to create spaces where community members are inspired;
  • Empowered more than30,000 volunteers to spend nearly 200,000 hours revitalizing important spaces;
  • Teamed up with nearly40 PPG customersand 2,300+ volunteers from their organizations to expand the impact of the program; and
  • Transformed280 schools and educational spaces,nearly130 hospitals and healthcare spaces,65 community centersandnine museums and science centers.
“In completing the initial 10-year commitment, we recognize the meaningful ways the Colorful Communities program has blended the best of who we are – our passionate, talented employees and our innovative products – to improve where we live and work,” said Dunn. “We look forward to 10 more years of protecting and beautifying these special places and giving employees a meaningful way to give back.”
